Quality Hi-fi Stereo Receiver Gets Versatile with HDMI® and Wireless Multi-room Audio DistributionPress Release dated: 22 Feb 2017
Onkyo is pleased to offer hi-fi enthusiasts a convenient and beautifully engineered 2-channel amplification solution in the TX-8270 Network Stereo Receiver announced today.
Outputting 2 x 160 W (6 Ohms, 1 kHz, 1%, 1 channel driven, IEC), the receiver is built on Dynamic Audio Amplification. The original design generates high current through low impedance to control large speaker drivers with uncommon accuracy.
Combining non-phase-shift circuitry for imaging clarity with discrete output transistors for low distortion, Dynamic Audio Amplification delivers rhythmic and detailed sound to suit a broad range of music styles.
Digital signals are converted by a quality AKM 384 kHz/32-bit DAC enhanced with VLSC™ (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry) filtering technology to eliminate ultra-high-frequency pulse noise. Processing is optimized for Hi-Res Audio including DSD 5.6 MHz/2.8 MHz and PCM up to 192 kHz/24-bit in FLAC, WAV, ALAC, AIFF, and WMA formats.
Exemplifying Onkyo’s long heritage in hi-fi component design, the TX-8270 is nonetheless ready to enhance contemporary lifestyles with extensive connectivity that makes it quick and easy to enjoy music in any format.
The receiver features four HDMI® inputs and one output with Audio Return Channel (ARC) to facilitate media player connection, such as an Apple TV, and to streamline TV audio amplification. A rear USB input (5 V/500 mA) supports HDMI dongles that require power.
An MM phono input, three line inputs, three digital audio inputs (two optical and one coaxial), speaker A/B outputs, and pre-/line outputs for Zone 2 (with separate DAC for distributed network/analog audio) are also included.
Wireless audio casting from smartphones, tablets, and personal computers is also a highlight. Next Generation Network Audio, based on 5 GHz/2.4 GHz Wi-Fi®, supports AirPlay and Spotify® and is ready for Chromecast built-in*1 and DTS Play-Fi®*1. Users can share any audio from smartphone, tablet, and PC applications more easily than ever before.
Multi-room distribution is enabled by FireConnect™*2 powered by Blackfire, a protocol that mirrors network sources and audio connected to the receiver’s external analog inputs*3 on compatible wireless speakers, such as the Onkyo NCP-302.
Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer, and TuneIn services*4 are integrated within the receiver and Onkyo Controller app*5, which incorporates receiver control, streaming service selection, and multi-room control in one simple interface.
Bluetooth® wireless connectivity is featured with Music Optimizer enhancement for compressed audio, while a powered front-panel USB input supports music playback from USB flash-memory devices.
The receiver has four preset buttons on the front panel for easy recall of DAB/DAB+, FM/RDS, and internet radio stations. A Graphical User Interface is displayed on TV screens connected via HDMI to make setup, network connection, and system calibration even easier.
Discerning hi-fi enthusiasts will also appreciate the robust metal chassis and other quality touches throughout, such as gold-plated audio inputs, speaker posts with screw knobs, and physical tone and balance controls.
Comfortably driving loudspeakers of almost any size and impedance, this versatile stereo receiver will delight experienced listeners with rich and emotionally compelling sound.
