My TX-NR609 seems to be suffering the "no sound" common fault and is still in warranty. I have raised a ticket (2013120610001119) but had no response yet.

Hey Onkyo service guys/ gals. I own one of your TX-NR609's and have just had the pleasure of it breaking down after 2 and a bit years of ownership. Judging by the amount of similar problems across the globe, this has got to be a known issue with this particular unit. I have registered with 'my onkyo' and have been unable to even log into that particular 'service'. I have today filled in the 'contact' page and am awaiting a response and hopefully a ticket number. Normally, in situations where reputable companies find their products have a design flaw, a product recall is initiated. I wonder if you could let me know whether your company has considered this option. Kind regards,Jonathan Obodo.

Hello Onkyo Team, my [Ticket#2013120310000081]. I have the same problem like most 609 Users,..no sound and no speaker symbol in OSD. I reseted the receiver allready but there is still no sound. I bought the system 2,5 years ago, so i have no warranty more?! Please let me know how we can handle that problem, in case its a generally problem of that high end product TX-NR609. What happends next?... Thank you
Hi Onkyo Europe,I have experienced the common problem as experienced by most other TX-NR609 owners. No Sound through HDMI after only 2.5 years of use for a £499 AV AMP is not acceptable. I have raised a ticket [Ticket#2013112210001242] vie the support website (to CustomerCare_EU) on 22nd November but still not had a reply.Can someone assist here?Many Thanks in Advance.

Will I have any support or warranty?? I expect that in a case like this with such a high failure rate, the company will take responsibility for this if they don't want to loose all this clients forever.Thank you

Ok ONKYO we all love your product but many of us have experienced the same problem with the TX-NR609! The amp fails to connect the speakers or network connections. The unit doesn't make the internal switching noise, the speaker display doesn't light up on the front display & the Network cannot be selected from the setup menu & there is no sound coming from the amp!If this is a software issue the please issue some firmware & if it's a hardware issue then we all are entitled to a free repair or replacement to correct the design fault! Please don't ignore this as poor customer aftercare & the power of social media can be detrimental to a company's good name & harm trading! Thank you!
