Hi I own a Onkyo TX-NR609 Receiver which has been excellent up until I it developed a fault. Sudden loss of sound (from any source) ( the position and setup/connections were unchanged) The video/HDMI through was OK. The Network and Firmware update is greyed out so will not allow me to perform a firmware update by network or by USB I tried resetting several times including factory reset but no joy. I have searched on the internet and found that countless people are suddenly experiencing the same problem at the same time. It's apparently the HDMI board which needs replacing and is a common fault with this model. What can be done to cure please ?Regards,Shaun Jacklin
Very disappointed to see my TX-NR609 after 34 months has now broken down due to a common fault with the HDMI board. Won't be buying Onkyo again considering my last receiver lasted a decade without a single issue.
My TX-NR609 is back... repaired... and it was completely free of charge. I love the sound...Thank you ONKYO
Hi all can anyone tell me if they have had a problem with sound no longer coming out of the speakers through a Onkyo TX-NR609 i have had a look on some forums and a lot of them are saying that it maybe the HDMI board if this is right how can i get hold of one or get it fitted as this is the second receiver i have had my 1st being a TX-SR608 and i have had no problems up until now
Hmmm... woke up this morning to discover that I am the latest victim of the HDMI board issue on my TX-NR609... hope I don't have to wait too long for it to be sorted like others on the net appear to have - Ticket#2014030210000151

Got a TX NR-609. Iam very disappointed with it as it now got the problem where there is no sound coming out,or no network.This is a problem which seems to be happening a lot with these units.The unit is now almost 2 months out of warranty, but this seems to me as a design fault. When I call your department in Germany they will not pick up the phone, I've waited 30 minutes!! How can I get in contact!!?? I don't understand you're treating customers this way, this is my 3rd Onkyo receiver, but it will be the last if help stays out. Please RESPOND!!!
Hi, I sent in a ticket for my TX-NR609 a week ago and haven't heard anything about it since then. My ticket number is Ticket#2014020474000744.Should i expect to wait a couple of weeks or is it on the way?
My TX-NR609 was sent to Germany to be repaired. From Finland. All in all I've been without the product for almost two months now. Do you think this is reasonable? Is this the quality of service you wish to uphold? My patience is running out - everyone in Finland is telling me they can't do anything before they receive word from your backed up service dept. in Germany. Try to get your act together. (Happy Valentine's Day my ass, I'd have loved to revive my favorite love songs, but since you've been tinkering with my receiver for weeks, I was stuck with silence.)
