Pioneer & Onkyo Europe GmbH debuts new FlareConnect™ Wireless Multi-room Audio Distribution system
Press Release dated: 26 Oct 2017Pioneer & Onkyo Europe GmbH is pleased to announce FlareConnect™, its next generation, in-house developed wireless multi-room audio distribution system.
Enabled via a simple firmware upgrade, FlareConnect* shares, distributes and synchronises music from network-attached and external audio sources (using dual-band 5 GHz / 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi®) between selected Onkyo/Pioneer audio-video/hi-fi components/systems and compatible wireless speakers.
It allows users to enjoy effortless multi-room playback of LP records, CDs, on-demand network music services and many more music sources, wherever they are in a house.
Ease of use is of paramount importance when it comes to multi-room audio. With FlareConnect, the ability to select particular music, cast music to individual FlareConnect-equipped speakers (or group several together) and manage playback across the home is built into the free partnering Onkyo Controller** app / the Pioneer Remote App**.
FlareConnect also offers the flexibility to change the standard ‘Master-Slave’ device assignment protocol that lies at the heart of any multi-room system. This means any suitable FlareConnect-equipped device (in any room) can be designated the ‘Master’ device.
Another notable feature built into FlareConnect is PlayQueue, the ability to construct playlists (via our apps) of music chosen from Music Server and USB memory, ready for continuous playback.
